What is considered acceptable in terms of attire and appearance in the workplace? Tattoos? Nose rings? Short skirts? Flip flops? Different workplaces tolerate different forms of dress as long as it is deemed “appropriate.” But what is “appropriate,” and is it discrimination if an employer prohibits body piercings and/or even tattoos? What about clothing, hair styles or facial hair that confirms with one’s religious beliefs? Can you have different standards for different employees? As the population becomes more diverse, the typical accommodations for certain forms of dress are no longer a simple matter. In addition to addressing this issue, in this 60-minute interactive webinar, our speaker will also present case scenarios and tips on how to create an effective dress/grooming policy.
